Oops! That is me.....

In your AIM directory (c:\program files\aim95\) or wherever you installed AIM to, delete the file "advert.ocm" then rename the file "admin.ocm" to "advert.ocm".

Thats all there is to it. :D

Good luck!

i did that actually and then, a week later, i tried to access my "edit preferences" to block someone and it sent a warning message that it needed to admin.ocm file to work aim. *shrug* dunno. i hadn't had trouble with it before that...

I don't even have that file. All I have is a folder for my screen name that has a folder called urlcache in it, without a file of that name in it. I have't used aim for very long though.

Oh god. Please ignore that. It's early and for some reason I was looking in the windows folder. I knew that didn't make any sense.

I took a different approach. go into you hosts file on your machine and add "127.0.0.1 ads.web.aol.com" that way when it loks for ads it goes to your computer. I found this site b/c i was trying to find out how to edit the advert.ocm file (then i could put my own pics in there :-)
