24 Hours of Spa report

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MV Agusta F4 : One Thread

Dear MV addicts,

I just return from Spa (near Liège in Belgium)where there was a race of World Endurance Championship.I was there for my work and I have met Steven Casaer who is pilot for Maxim Endurance Team. They run F4 in this championship with factory help. Steven and the two others riders are very fast and the bike is very competitive. They have support of the factory, hence there were Andrea GOGGI (the mind who draw Cagivas GP V4 and F4 engines),a factory test rider (he was there with an F4 showing 80'000 km on the clock !!!), a mechanic and other persons. All this Italian people came with their bikes : five F4 and two Brutale S test bikes (one red and one black). I've speak with the test rider and he let me know that SPR and Senna production is going to start in august and just after will start Brutale S production. He also let me know again that Piaggio has really bought 25% of MV Agusta Motor (MV,Cagiva, HVA)but they don't want to say officially to the public until changes are coming evidences. Concerning the F5 the guy was very very evasive about the question, I think they really want the bike ready for officially speaking about. They have problems because in Italy the Raptors and HVA are very good selling and the factory capacity output is always close to maxi. Last sales report in Italy show +88% for MV Agusta Motor. We speak about the some very exotic prototypes he rode as well as hot test rides of the Cagiva GP500 on the road!!! I also have the answer why some importers don't sale the levers separatly : In some countries MV is very affraid about trials and laws(i.e. : USA)and they are thinking that if you fall and broke the lever, the master cilinder could be damaged, they spoke about it with Nissin and the Japaneses have answered that's better to deliver only the whole thing and MV just follow their advise.

We spoke a lot, so if you have other questions just ask for
