How do you plant aspen trees?

My husband is a forester, so I went to him for an answer to your question. Any piece of root from an aspen will start new growth. When they go into an area and want aspen to regenerate they just chop up the ground, thereby chopping up all the aspen roots and the little buds on the roots will start a new tree. Hope this helps.
