Cindy (Cin_Sue63@webtv.net) She got an invite when I first started the forum. Hasn't posted much but I got a request from her today asking asking if she could have the password. I sent it to her and said in my reply that I hoped we'd hear more from her.

Sent another email to Alison Homa (sandybeach@bournemouth.co.uk). I remembered Cindy mentioning that she was having trouble getting in contact with Alison.

I moved Rick Hostetler's post from the "Need input from Forum members" thread over to the "Over the fence chat for 7/15/01 to 7/21/01" thread. I then deleted the "Need input from Forum members" thread.

I also sent Rick an email letting him know that I moved his post. Here is a copy of that email:

Hi Rick,

I just wanted to let you know that I need to move your recent posting on BTS from one thread and put it on another thread.

You posted on the "Need input from Forum members" thread the following:

-----------

Howdy all, good to be back!! I was a bit out of touch for awhile and was surprised to see the password protect when I tried to get in a few days ago. Anyway I'm glad to be welcome here and will try to participate more, though summers are a busy time for me now.

On another note, I may well be a farmer soon. Found a beautiful 44 acre farm here in Idaho, and between my mother and I may be able to afford it, if we can get the place we're at now sold. Already planning what to do with the place and haven't even put an offer on it yet, Ha! Anyway, if we don't get this particular place I'm determined to be back on a farm within the year.

Again, thanks all for the nice recomendations and for my shiny new password. Look forward to chatting with you all in the future

Rick

-- Rick Hostetler (osulphus@aol.com)

--------

I need to move it over to the newest "Over the fence chat for 7/15/01 to 7/21/01". I'm in the process of deleting the other thread so I didn't want to completely delete your post - that's the reason for moving it.

Thanks,

-Jim Morris

BTW, thanks Cindy for editing the "Need input from Forum members" thread last night. I completely overlooked doing that so I'm glad you took the time to do so. Now the thread is completely gone so that should take care of that matter.

-- Anonymous, July 17, 2001

Now we just need to take care of the following three individuals and a few more on the hotmail account:

Daryll (twincreek@digitalexp.com)

Rick (Rick_122@hotmail.com)

Country Friend Jack Bunyard (bunyard@cnz.com)

-- Anonymous, July 17, 2001

Joy,

You made mention of dealing with Carolyn Cariens... My input on that is: handle it however you see fit.

-- Anonymous, July 17, 2001

There are 3 names at the top of the thread still -- Daryll, Rick (the other one), and Jack Bunyard. I think they'd be okay, any opinion from you two? - Joy

Country Jack Bunyard is probably ok. Like I said on the other thread my gut instinct is to say no to Rick K and Daryll. Joy, you think they all are ok. What do you think, Cindy?

-- Anonymous, July 17, 2001

I'm going offline again. I'll be back on around 4:30 pm CDT. I'm interested in hearing from you both on what we should do with the remaining people in the hotmail account.

Talk to ya later! :-)

-- Anonymous, July 17, 2001

I sent the Dear Jane letter to Carolyn Cariens and moved her request to the sent folder. Or are you deleting the ones that are denied access?

I have been looking at the original Pagan thread that started this thing: Click Here It appears that perhaps Kenneth Bush was among the original invitees? Should we go with that and send him the password? If so, I think we should point out that he hasn't been participating, hence our confusion. Boy, that thread certainly foreshadowed my "blabby fingers" on BTS, didn't it?

Also, was there a request from twinrosefarm@worldnet.att.net, someone named Kathie? Did I just imagine that? I see she posted on the original thread about Pagans. There are other people on that thread that have posted occasionally, like Shannon, and Dan Baker, who haven't been heard from lately. I think we need to do something about those folks eventually, but not just now . . . .

I thought Angie Meininger was really nice in her reply. Shall we keep a list for future consideration?

Forgot to say, going off line now myself -- date with the dentist. What fun! Where is Cindy today?

-- Anonymous, July 17, 2001

I was on here early this morning, off by 9 or so. I had to get chores done and then take Zip to the vet. She was not doing so well, something to do with a skin boo boo under her arm, a big welt, that came up yesterday. It was very irritating to her yesterday. And then she started having like an alergic reation to it. Itching all over.

I had to put her in the shower last night to cool her off. Something that got in her skin while she was lost, and is just now festering. All her skin turned red yesterday afternoon, and she wouldn't eat. The vet gave her some allergy shots and some stuff for the boo boo. It wasn't there before, and she was fine before. I thought it was one of those warbles, but it wasn't. I don't know, never had this happen before, but didn't want to chance whatever is irritating her skin. I hope she eats this evening.

If I had to vote, I'd vote no for Rick and Daryll too. Just don't know if they can be trusted. One person said on the thread that they liked Rick.

Just back from the dentist, and the ibuprofen is kicking in, somewhat. Everything down to a dull roar. Man, I have NEVER had this much dental pain before, at least that I remember. I took the ibuprofen as soon as I got out of the chair (should have taken it BEFORE), but I was in tears all the way home. Jangles all your other nerves too to have that much pain. Plus it made me nauseated. Geez, I usually do okay with the dentist.

Anyway, my brain is not functioning right now. Don't ask me to decide anything. Later this evening maybe, hope the damn thing calms down. The only time I had anything close to this bad, I ended up having to have a root canal. Hope not!

-- Anonymous, July 17, 2001

Sorry to hear you both are having problems.

Cindy, I hope Zip gets better. Let me know how she's doing.

I don't envy you, Joy. I've been fortunate with my teeth - I haven't had much done to them for quite a few years other than annual cleaning. I hope my luck doesn't run out...

As for decisions on who to let in - At this point I'm about ready to say "no more passwords to anyone" (unless they're old-timers that were over-looked or they have *solid* recommendations by the regulars over at BTS).

If you guys agree then I'll be sending dear Jane/John letters out to the rest of them. But I'll wait until at least tonight to hear back from you guys. I don't want either of you to feel rushed when it comes to managing the forum.

-- Anonymous, July 17, 2001

It appears that perhaps Kenneth Bush was among the original invitees? Should we go with that and send him the password?

I'm uncertain if that is the same Kenneth that posted to the "pagans" thread. Either way, they haven't been active on the list so I would have to say: "no password".

Also, was there a request from twinrosefarm@worldnet.att.net, someone named Kathie? Did I just imagine that?

Hmmmm, I don't remember seeing any request from her in the hotmail account. I don't remember sending her an invite originally. I don't think I sent an invite to everyone on the "pagans" thread.

There are other people on that thread that have posted occasionally, like Shannon, and Dan Baker, who haven't been heard from lately. I think we need to do something about those folks eventually, but not just now . . . .

I don't think Shannon or Dan Baker got the password. I'll try to send one to Shannon when I get the chance but Dan Baker kinda dropped off our radar screen over on BTS so I may not send one to him.

-- Anonymous, July 17, 2001

I thought Angie Meininger was really nice in her reply. Shall we keep a list for future consideration?

I had second thoughts about sending her the "dear jane" letter after her nice reply.

I may change my mind on letting her in. What do you guys think?

I'm going offline again. Be back on at around 10pm CDT.

-- Anonymous, July 17, 2001

Joy, I sure hope the pain med works ok for you, not a good thing to have to go thru. Zip is passed out on my bed, she ate a bit this evening.

-- Kathie in Western Washington (twinrosefarm@worldnet.att.net)

I didn't send her anything from the hotmail box. I thought I saw it too, maybe I saw it over at CS or something. She is the gal who knows allot about cows, and she has emailed me privately before helping me with Ginger.

I'm gonna go check out some things, so I can better answer. I'll be back on at 11 my time.

-- Anonymous, July 17, 2001

Joy, maybe what we remember is twincreek, that's Daryll, and he posted allot on the threads talking about the passwords.

-- Anonymous, July 17, 2001

Yeah, I wondered that too, Cindy, if it was twincreek that I was thinking about. BTW, I just left chat, where my acquaintance that I "Dear Janed" thanked me for telling her about CS (to go read instead of BTS) and how she discovered the Gladys thread and why we locked the doors, and apologized for even asking for the password. She had no idea! I think she'll enjoy CS, at least until the next storm blows up.

The ibuprofen is only dulling the pain, so I'm not staying on too long tonight. I'm counting the hours until I can take more pills -- such a fun way to live. Still have to walk the dog too.

If neither of you want to let the second Rick and Daryll in, I'll abide by your decisions. I think they'd be okay, but who knows.

About Angie Meininger, she is posting on CS. Maybe that's enough for her, and maybe we'll find out more about her there? Also, I discovered that the Phil Jensen address is used by someone who signs herself Patti. I thought I associated that address with a woman. However, now that I know that, I still can't remember anything about her.

-- Anonymous, July 17, 2001

It's 11. Hello there.

-- Anonymous, July 17, 2001

I'm here, too.

I've got a "dear john" email ready to send to Daryll but I'm really conflicted over sending it.

I don't have much problem saying no to this "Rick" person (maybe because I don't know him). But for some reason I'm feeling guilty about sending one to Daryll. I don't know why...

I may work on sending rejection notices to the few others in the hotmail account before I decide what to do about Daryll.

-- Anonymous, July 17, 2001

Whatever you feel, Jim, that's ok by me.

-- Anonymous, July 17, 2001

I appreciate the support, Cindy. :-)

Not much else to report on here. I'm gonna work on the rest of the hotmail requests and then head for bed.

So, I think it's safe to say that after tonight, this stuff *should* be wrapped up for the most part and we can (hopefully) get things back to normal. I don't think there's much more for either of you to do right now so just take a break from all this, ok? I'm also hoping that we three won't have much to do over at BTS from now on if we've been successful in password-protecting the forum.

'Night.

-- Anonymous, July 17, 2001

Sent a password to Country Friend Jack Bunyard (bunyard@cnz.com)

-- Anonymous, July 17, 2001

Night Jim, and you get some rest too, kiddo.

-- Anonymous, July 17, 2001

Night Jim. I getting offline now too. I have lots to do to get ready to go to Rockford, so I may not be around much the next two days, and probably not at all Thursday through Saturday.

Night Cindy (what is this, the Waltons?) ;-)

-- Anonymous, July 17, 2001

Thanks guys.

Sent a pasword to Daryll (twincreek@digitalexp.com) I hope I made the right decision. And for the life of me I don't know why this one caused me so much angst! :-/

The rest of the requests (4 left) will have to wait until tomorrow. Hotmail has crashed several of my browser windows tonight and it's slower than molasses to boot.

Hope you enjoy your trip, Joy. And I hope Zip is doing better, Cindy.

Thanks for the help with all this, guys!

-- Anonymous, July 17, 2001

That's why I don't like Hotmail. It's been getting weird lately, and so I switched over to Yahoo for the generic mail. I don't know, but something is wanky over there. One day my mouse started doing all kinds of things, one day the whole computer went off! And my computer never messes up, ever. I used to not believe all that stuff about Passport, but now I do. Maybe switch over to Yahoo? I've had no problems over there, and it's much faster.

MSN is going thru major changes with "security", so they say, and that's why my email wasn't working. I had to reset my security settings, and they want you to download the new IE, and I will not do that. They say it will work without it and it better, cuz I pay for this service. I got my new PC and printer for 200 so I have to stay with MSN for 1 more year.

-- Anonymous, July 18, 2001

Yeah, I agree. After I get these few people taken care of I'm gonna dump the hotmail account and create a yahoo acount.

How's Zip doing, Cindy? Is she feeling better?

-- Anonymous, July 18, 2001

Yeah Jim she is! This morning she "talked" like she always does. It was good to hear after 2 days of her not doing it.

I hope Joy is feelin better, I haven't seen her post this morning. Tooth pain is the worst!

I have got to go outside and clean up the back today. We're moving stuff and building stuff and it's a mess. I'm glad no one is comming over to see!

-- Anonymous, July 18, 2001

I'm better. I got a good night's sleep, although I slept in a little longer, so that's why I'm later than ever getting here.

Glad Zip is feeling more like herself!

Someone on one of my email lists commented that Hotmail had just changed the way the page displays, so maybe that's why you were having trouble Jim. I haven't looked at it today yet, so don't know what is different.

-- Anonymous, July 18, 2001

Glad to hear things are better with both of you. I'm doing pretty good, too. But I'm having to stay in the air-conditioned indoors during the heat of the day (it's been gettin up in the mid 90's for the past several days) to avoid some of the side-effects from this one medication (Cardura) I'm on.

As to hotmail, yes they did change the format yesterday so that may have been the cause of some of the problems. I have noticed that hotmail is much slower to access than yahoo, though. I haven't done a thing yet with the remaining requests yet as I haven't been online much today. I'll try to get as many of them done over lunch and the rest (if any) will have to wait until tonight.

BTW, I mistook the note that Ruth left me this morning about how much rain we received last night. She said 1/4 inch but I read it as 1 inch. Guess I'll have to do more naked rain dancing tonight! ;-)

Something seems to be going on with Sharon. Check out these threads: Trendle's about her soooo mean neighbor and Sharon's about pasture management. Too early for us to be stepping in, I'm sure, but probably warrants keeping an eye on the situation.

-- Anonymous, July 18, 2001

Sent a password to Sandy(FL.) (REDNECKGIRL32@prodigy.net)

-- Anonymous, July 18, 2001

Yeah, I don't know what's up with her. Maybe the accusations made against her over on CS affected her more than she's letting on. She tried to brush it off as no big deal but maybe it really bothered her.

She and I have had some disagreements lately, too, so maybe that's part of it...

-- Anonymous, July 18, 2001

Well, I thought Tren WAS a bit hard on Sharon. Did you read that? Sharon meant no harm, she was just funnin. I was afraid that would cause Sharon to just give it up. She keeps getting bashed and dosen't deserve it. That's why I tried to make light of the situation. I think Tren was being a little overly-sensitive, don't you? She did say she was sorry to us, but not to Sharon.

And Emama said some things to Sharon a while back, about her being too paranoid about putting the pics on the pic page, kinda went over board in her assumption. I'm sure Sharon and her will work it out on their own without our help.

I don't know why Sharon keeps gettin the brunt of things, she's really not being mean, just her sence of humor is hard for some to grasp I think. I am glad she posted again yesterday. She really is very cheerful and funny on the phone. And she really meant no harm in either case.

-- Anonymous, July 19, 2001

Ah geez, I think Trendle was too sensitive. I also think Sharon was too harsh when she found out that Trendle was hurt. I think I won't sit here "gossiping" about it anymore. I only brought it up because I was afraid we were going to have a fight on the board. We apparently have at least hard feelings now! [sigh]

Y'all have fun with the whips and chairs, keeping things in line. I'm signing off for the weekend.

-- Anonymous, July 19, 2001

Well, I hope none of them has any hard feelings. I only mentioned it because it was brought up here. I haven't spoken to anyone about it. I like all of them.
