You know it's funny Buff - I read somewhere just yesterday that Mendietta was Argentinian, so when the question came up on here I really wasn't sure myself.

BTW, Mendietta has today agreed to sign for Juventus for £28mm!

The headline that really attention was one that said Valencia were expected to use the cash from Mendietta to pursue "£26mm ace Acuna!!!!!"

Unfortunately, the player in question is Roberto Acuna of Real Zaragosa. Zaragosa are saying he is not for sale but he has a buy-out clause in his contract that says he can move if someone offers £26mm, ie. silly money.
