Music to my ears, actually!

Robert so far havent said a bad word about us. Of course he negotiates for a good salary, thats nothing I hold against him. I really hope we get him insteed of Zenden.

Where did you read that? There's nothing in today's L'Equipe other than the Tour de France. I think he's a pretty good player, although no Zidane. Last year he scored 19 goals in all competitions in about 35 or so matches, mostly from the left wing.

He's certainly very temperamental, but that's not always a bad thing. Better that than not giving a damn.

a paper here talking about Barcas NON interest in him despite contradicting stuff going about. They are slightly poking fun at us.

voila

"French international Laurent Robert insists his move to Newcastle could be back on after shrugging off suggestions that the deal is already dead.

Bobby Robson has all but given up on his £10m bid to bring the 26- year-old to Tyneside and before United's 4-0 win at Lokeren on Saturday he claimed he would not wait forever for any player plainly uncommitted to the Magpies' cause.

Robert was made aware of those comments and the anxious midfielder responded by claiming last night: "I still believe the deal is possible.

"All I have said is that I will look at every option and that includes offers from Newcastle and Paris St Germain. The manager here has said there is a place for me in his team and he does not want me to leave so I have to listen to PSG."

Now I certainly do not want to be the one starting rumours, however, IF earlier reports in the press are to be believed AND the clubs did reach an agreement on the price and it was down to Lauren and a medical they cannot refuse his the transfer.

Don't bank on it Gus - remember they are Frogs!

I know clarky, however the rumour I did not want to be associated with was that the press could be believed.

Gotcha.

The fact that he is even thinking about coming shows that he hasn't listened to Domi's thoughts that we are all devil worshippers...I mean, unless he has a taste for the black arts.

.... or is the Devil himself!

He has said on his website that he is waiting for Newcastle to comeback with an improved contract offer. The deal would appear to have been done with PSG.

The latest relevant interview questions from Robert's site (July 17) were:

Q: Where are you at regarding your possible transfer? Robert: (for Clarky) I am still discussing things with my agent. I'll should know my future by the weekend. (Note the use of 'normalement' before this statement allows any Frenchman leeway for nothing to happen for weeks, months, years...)

Q: Have you arranged a meeting with the PSG directors? Robert: That's my agents job. I talk to him on the phone regularly and he knows what I want. Personally, I want everything to be settled by the weekend. If I stay or leave, I want to know by this weekend.

Q: And the transfer to Newcastle? Robert: Thay are reflecting on the financial aspect at the moment and haven't got back to me yet. Nothing more has evolved yet.

So it looks like he's waiting to see if Freddy comes back to his agent with an improved offer before he makes a decision by the end of the week.
