Looking for a Pre-WWII Photograph of Jack's Restaurant (after it was rebuilt in 1907)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : San Francisco History : One Thread

I am looking for a photograph of the facade (the entire facade, if not, at least the street level) of jack's Restaurant, 615 Sacramento St., San Francisco, preferrably around the 1920's. Any photographs after WWII I am NOT intersted in.

This morning's Contra Costa Times (August 13, 2001) has an article in the Timeout section about the guy who gives tours of Dashiell Hammett's San Francisco. He's got a lot of information about SF during the era you are interested in -- he's written a book and does walking tours (I've been on one: it was GREAT).

He's got a website (www.donherron.com) and you could contact him to either look at pictures he's got or have him point you to sources you haven't thought of yet.
