Will there be cows at the 1000-Day?

This is a good question. Cattle are a very important piece of the 1000 Day environmental juggernaut because they serve to distract the few deer flies that are present during July. There will be cattle, and that is where the flies will gather.

I have found out more info about cows in our orienteering area. The cattle grazing season in the National Forest begins on June 15 and ends on October 15. Cows are essential for keeping grass to a manageable level in the marshy areas.
