Does the work of Emily Borinte has a connection with Poe's one?

I wonder... Especially about her single novel, *Wuthering Heights*. It's romantic n gothic literature, so y not? I mean... the hero, in this book, is a Byronic one. N u no how Poe was fond of Byron. But I don't even no if she (Emily) was aware of Poe's existence when she died (1848, tuberculosis). Maria
