Hi! Does anyone know what wich pin means in order to use a extended battery pack? There are three different pins. Has anyone such a battery pack?

Greetings Daniel

Daniel, keep in mind that this is a high voltage port and is designed for several hundred volts being crammed into it to directly charge the flash capacitor. Recycle times are about 1 to 1.5 seconds and you have to have AA's loaded as well to control the electronics.

Checking with my Quantum Turbo battery the front pin is positive and the center one is negative. The rear pin is unused, at least with the Quantum, but it may be used with the Canon Transistor Battery Pack.

If you want to use an external 6 volt pack you can use a cable module from the Quantum, Battery 1/1+ or Bantam. They fit into the AA battery space. I have built one myself using wood dowling of the appropriate size. Just drill a hole, end to end, through the top and bottom dowls and insert your wires and put a screws into the ends for contacts. Recycle times are about 4 to 5 seconds with a 6 volt lead acid battery.

One of the pins is ground, one is +270 volts and one is a 5 volt singal. The Canon power supplies (Compact Battery Pack E/E2 and Transistor Pack E) have no on/off switch and ustilize the signal to power-up.
