borrowing lenses in the UK

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

Just a quick note to see if any kind sole would be prepared to loan me any of the following lenses for a day to try them out myself as I am still unclear as to what to head for in super wide for the leica M: 21 SA3.4,21 2.8,21 2.8 Asph. I would be happy to leave something more valuable and to sign anything that means I pay/replace have important parts of my body removed etc if I manage to 'alter' the condition. Maybe the owner would also be interested in my subjective results...In fact I have had an even better idea why not arrange a day where we could meet to try out each other's lenses to see for ourselves the differences. We could call it the anorak's day out or something.....I am happy to organise the 'event' [We could even look at some kind of insurance for the day to put those with faint hearts at ease] and am prepared to loan my 35/2 4th non Asph, 50/2 latest, 15/4.5 Voightlander to anyone with an M and safe hands. Let me know what anybody thinks, I am located in the UK in St Albans, Anyway enough rambling I will leave the offer open.

Good idea, Richard. Being in Northern California I can only lend you moral support, I'm afraid. Doesn't do you much good, I know. If/when in the UK I would gladly lend you both the SA and ASPH. Or if you come out to San Francisco for trials, let me know. Otherwise, best of luck making contacts.

I like the idea I own a 21 3.4, but I live in Mexico, what I can tell is that I like this lens very much, can be not the top of the line but I may be would not nitice the diference with the latest 21 asph, and is so compact in the camera, I recomend to try it. Good idea Richard, sory I am so far
