Clearly our pre-season planning has been thrown into disarray. We were used to scoring at the modest rate of 0, 1 or 2 most of last season - suddenly our natural rythm is upset and we stick 4 in. And of course the opposition was rubbish - just wait till we play a decent team. And Bellamy? £6m and fails to score against these amateurs. Those 2 "assists" have cost us £3m each!!!

It will all end in tears ... :-)

I think you are being harsh on Bellamy. According to many reports Bellamy was one of the best on the pitch. Also, last season he had a better strike rating than Cort or Shearer.

Have some faith in the team and they might actually achieve something. It really annoys me when people are saying we cannot win anything and the season has just started.

Well I've just arrived back from the Lokeren game, and came on straight away to set up this account, and from the user name (ie Craig Bellamy - presumably not the real one?)you'll see, I was absolutely delighted with the Craig Bellamy performance! He was outstanding and goes to prove that all the people below with constant bad remarks should watch him before you comment! He was sharp all night long, and was always doing some excellent link up play, and using what I could tell as an excellent knowledge of different plays, situations etc! and also as many will know was a big part in a couple of goals.
Meanwhile, Robbie Elliot was solid all night, and was making sure not to make any mistakes on his debut!
The support was absolutely fantastic and went crazy when Lua, knocked in a wonderful goal! OK the opponents, arent anything to lose sleep over with but I must say I'm looking forward to Bellamy proving so many of you wrong in the up and coming season! Up the Toon!

I hope you've woken up now Ian - as Screach points out the tongue was so far in cheek I looked as though I'd just finished 15 rounds with Tyson. I thought the liberal helpings of smilies gave the game away completely and I was VERY chuffed with the "Have we peaked too early?" title.
