Guglielmo Marconi's visit to San Francisco in 1933

greenspun.com : LUSENET : San Francisco History : One Thread

Guglielmo Marconi visited S.F., I believe sometime around October 1933 while he was on a round the world tour. While in S.F. there was a reception conducted in his honor aboard an ocean liner docked at the Embarcadero. The vessel could have been named the Chichibu Maru that transported him to Japan. I would like to know more about this reception, its date and time, and to confirm if the vessel named above was truly the vessel he continued his trip from S.F.
