Peking was a lot easier to spell, why did they ever change the name?

There was a bloke in the paper having an affair with a Mongol at the local Adult Training Centre, where he worked. Nobody liked it but because they were consenting adults the mucky pup got away with it. It only came out when he was charged with getting under age girls to take dorty pictures of themselves for sweets. He was dubbed "Pervert Pensioner", I am not sure if he's been hounded out of his home yet.

Tony, well if she'd been a "Mongerel" and he was "hound"ed out then they'd undoubtedly have been eaten by now - had this been in China that is lol

rik, as for the name change, I'm not sure whether our (British) government recognises "Beijing" as, my latest passport, issued in China (Nov. '99) states quite clearly: Issuing Authority: British Embassy Peking.

I can't believe some of the opposition to Beijing. Sure human rights may be a little questionable but hey, the USA have had it twice recently & they aren't exactly squeeky clean in the masacre/ public execution dept.
