A turning point from pain

A couple of years ago I went through an intense personal crisis that ended up lasting for almost a year. I had this little essay posted on my refrigerator door and I would read it every morning so I could make it through the day without crying. I thought that you guys might like it.

A turning point from pain by Joyce S. Hifler

The past is history now. We may have brought ourselves down to the level of a worm -- and this is the time to be a butterfly. No amount of grieving for things past can bring peace. It only keeps us in pain that should have been gone long ago.

This is our turning point. This is where we make tremendous change and lift ourselves over the brim to freedom. We have learned what our foolish decisions can bring, and we have the emotional scars to prove it.

Learn from experience, draw from it the wisdom to avoid pitfalls. A mature person thinks, meditates, and looks ahead. If the five senses cannot see sensible solutions, then try the spiritual, because it has no limitations.
