greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

To all the peopoe who took the time to give me advise on my cat, Harley, thank you. She is recovering. Now, playing & eating dry cat food. She still refuses her treat of can cat food. She is slowly regaining some of weight she lost. She is now back sleeping with me. Again, thank you for all your advise & support.

i just read this i don't know the story behide the sick cat but it sounds like he was a sick cat. this has nothing really to do about your cat just something that is odd. we have a cat somkey who is 20 lbs. i know some of you a ready to hit the submit botton and tell us how bad it is for the cat. the vet and about 3 judges and may others all ready did. so you can tell me about the health problems and the diabeates if you want to but we have tryed all kinds of diets and they have never worked. if you leave a bag of new food out some where he'll always find it a tear it to shreads while you are out to the van to get another load. mom allwayssend us down to the basment to sprinkle the "new stuff" on top of his allready full bowl. one time we sat a new bag down in the middle of the living room floor for a min while we went to do something else and that was a big mistake we found a cat with a shreaded bag laying happily in the middle of the floor he liked that game and as so as we came in the room he took for running happily down the stairs to wait for us to come down and put the more food in his full dish. another wierd thing about him is that if the bottom of the bowl shows in any place well that is just as good as it being empty he won't eat any more till you fill it again. he won't eat canned food (wich is just a well he don't need the fat) he'll turn he nose up at steak, nothing can have fat on it or it is uneatable, but he has learn to recognize the sound of meat bags from the deli and will come running (to the best of his ability with the rolls on the side flying) and run through your feet till you give him may slices. you can't just through a piece on the floor no that would be to easy you have to tear it in bit size peices and put it on "his speicial" plate. he goes nuts over musk mellon and honey dew he loves it. you can't have a peice with out him having one. you are not allowed to sit beside him or get where his tail will touch you when it swishes or you will be hurting. he loves the doors game where he goes in and out all day long inside outside inside outside etc. you must be waiting at the door when he is or you will have a ruined scream or door. most of you are probably wondering why we have such a cat. MOM... she loves the fat thing. he is OK MOST of the time and he is usually sleeping. he loves to make suprise attacks on you in the middle of the night win you are checking on a goat and are not full with it yet. i'm sure he hears the alarm clock in the middle of the night or on school nights and runs to the darkes part the the hall he can and gets under some object to wait. the time you are ready and you look for him he is never to be found. when you don't follow one of the rules mentioned above he'll not wait till you wake up he'll hunt you down in your room and pounce on you. do you know how it feels to have a 20 lbs land on you when you are dreaming? It is always a treat when you have some one over they always tell stories about monter cats and show off their wounds in the morning. shuting the door dosen't help he'll either open the dorr himself or skrach on the door till every one in the house is up. this is the best. when he has a hair ball he runs to mom's room (the onley place with white carpet) and coughs it up all over. then i get remind to give him his hair ball goop. so never complain about your cat cause ours is probably worse.
