Pentax 67 Eyecup

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Pentax 67 SLR : One Thread

Hello,

Does anyone know if there are alternatives to the Pentax 67 eyecup? In other words, is there an eyecup made for any of the Nikon cameras (or any other brand) that would work? There are no Pentax dealers in my area. If there is no other alternative, can you suggest a good place to find a used one? I realize that they can be found from time to time on Ebay, etc. but if there is an alternative to the auction route I'd prefer to do that.

Thanks, Sam

Eyecups can be had from Pentax USA in Colorado. Call them to order one. There are two versions of eyecups; The larger diameter older one and the smaller diameter newer version. Most of the ones available now are the newer version. The newer ones are better in that they don't get in the way of the film door when closing.

Sam, I just ordered one from my local Pentax dealer. After calling Pentax they said it would be cheaper to get it through my dealer. The part number is 37410 ($16.60). Don

Sam,

I bought the eyecup from a local dealer (without seeing it first). I must have got the older type because it does slightly catch on the film door. I must say that this was the best accessory I have bought in years (£6 new). It made the viewfinder much clearer in blocking sunlight when outdoors and I have found it to be very tough when eventually mounted on the viewfinder. Buy it!

Does anyone know if this fits the P67II as well, or if they have different eye cups?
