Perspective??

A frenetic day and, if we beleive half of what has been written (and confirmed in a round about way by Bobby) then:

The young lad Mendes is not comming. Reason his hero and former dutch international Rijckard (sp) is his new manager. Understandable.

PSG seem to be playing around and want cash upfront.Apparently this is unusual. Deal hits a frustrating stalemate.

Zenden touting for a club in Europe.OK he hasnt come running and is clearly keeping his options open but has not said no, never bugger off.

IMHO the latter two can bugger off now as any arrival will cause problems in the near future.

Is any of the above a suprise. Not to me. Totally predictable.

The latter two bids for me were always likely failures. Tho' Bobby didnt think so.

Not surprised at all pete! I know what Man City fans feel like now, how one minute they were the one of the best in England and then everything comes apart at the seams. Very Depressing, I must admit. I am still confused as to why and how we were allowed to fall so far so fast, just like it all came together for keegan it seems to have all come apart for dogleash and the man from amsterdam. I'd still like both players to arrive at some point, but I am not holding out too much for it.

What I'd really like is for everything to click like it did for leeds 3 years ago.

excuse me for a minute here, what's with the sour tone... have we lost anything??? A player who does not want to play for us SHOULD NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT COMING HERE. We need players who live and die for the B&W!!! Not overpriced ninnies who will probably sit out the season with a freakin toe injury, or be homesick (dum dum domi) or whatever. Our dosh is as good as manure's and if these players don't want to play for the second largest club in Britain than screw 'em!!!!

excuse me for losin it, but I don't see these non-signings as a loss at all, and if they do sign, they had better be damn well ready to perform!!!!!

No such thing as a player who would live and die black and white (apart from a geordie). Whould you die for your job? Lets face it, we need to pay top wages and sign players who don't like to lose. Thats what manu do. Of course it's easy when you don't lose but what the hell.

Well, we've not wasted any money, our wage bill hasn't gone up.

I'm with Sparxx on this one! ok die for the cause is a bit strong but we want someone who's totally committed to coming to the club and helping it to progress not another money mercenary....if they are hesitant about joining then that's a lack of commitment and i'm just not interested, i'd rather we kept the money!

We're much too close to the problem. I think we'll get some idea as early as tomorrow, how much difference it's going to make missing out on all these signings.

If our lot can get their heeds sorted and go with the right attitude, ie absolutely murder this lot - no messing around, it could be just the start we need.

Ok, it's a bit no-win cos, bad as we might be, I think we'd be expected to come away with some sort of result. And a repeat performance next week. You never know, if they do it properly, it could set us up quite nicely for the start of the season.

I'd far rather face Chelsea in the first game after having seen off, in no uncertain terms, a bunch of what really should be no hopers (assuming we don't underestimate them and they don't raise their game to an unearthly level), than to face Chelsea having struggled over both legs against the Belgians.

I'm peed off with being down in the dumps because of all this uncertainty.
