I tell you what, it has really brought things into perspective. Only 6 years ago we were breaking the transfer record and unveiling a top player at SJP to much media acclaim. 6 years down the line and the manager can't give money away. 2 middling foreigners stick 2 fingers up to us. I also suspect that these 2 were well down BR's list of targets. This means 3 average to good players have now turned us down!

God only knows who is next on list but I suspect Bobby will be scraping the barrel.

Thanks you Mr Dalglish for dismantling a team and same to you Gullit for carrying on the good work!

So annoying and frustrating I could scream!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i suspect bobby's list looks like the electoral roll!

ARGHhhhhhhhhhhhh There, I did it for you . It is frustrating though that they can spend nearly £50 Million on two players. But it'll be dead funny when they gets kicked from pillar to post, putting them in the treatment room for much of the season.

I bloody love to know who they have tried for and been rejected out of site.

Are Zenden and Robert a tip of a rather large nasty iceberg.

Are we seen as being like damaged goods.

Mind you didnt Monkeys Heed utter the same frustrations a while back?

I feel much better after that scream thanks!

Seriously though, it is clear no 'big' names or foreign 'stars' want to dirty their feet in the NE of England. So where does Bobby go now? Can anyone think of any player from our shores who would come to us?

I can't think of anyone. I wish we'd signed Clark now, at least he would have been an option.

I think the iceberg could easily sink a big ship

bobbys face was revealing IMHO

He looked shocked and worried - knowing he has no chance of delivering what we want.

I have sympathy for him poor sod

At least he was honest

Has he gambled and lost in this respect - letting Glass and Gallacher go

Bobby implied he was suprised Zenden said no

End result we are weaker now than in may

Zenden hasn't said NO, ,,,, yet.

I believe that we only went for Robert when Zenden was taking his time making his mind up about a move to Newcastle. The ploy being "Well if you don't sign then we'll go for another" . I think that Zendens agent then said something like , "Yes Zenden will probably come to Newcastle". So Newcastle called off the bid for Robert, saying that we could only pay in instalments knowing that PSG would reject this. This prompted Zendens agent to back track and say "Hang on a minute, I said he MIGHT be interested". Now Newcastle will have to resurect the Robert deal and tie him up, teling Zenden that it's too late.

we are weaker than in May? I hate to differ on this point but if Bellamy is even equal to Gallacher we'll have a player that puts out 150% every game, and that was something we couldn't even get for a full season last year with Gallacher. As for Glass, how many games did he play in? How many goals did he score? I think we may find we are slightly better off than we were in May.

As for Veron, he's a marked man. Players are going after him just because they want to prove he ain't special.....

Finally someone out there will take our money, believe me, it's just a matter of time.
