greenspun.com : LUSENET : MATH : One Thread

Y'all, it is not even 8 PM here. Why am I awake? Hate. I think I am anticipating the repair jags, who promised they would be here yesterday. Also, supposedly our cable gets fixed today, so that I will not have to sit at the microwave, connecting at 28.8 anymore.

Y'all should have seen the MOC when he went to work today. He's so cute with his lunchbag.

Crap. You know I meant 8 AM.

I love thinking about the MOC with his little cooler type lunch bag. New and improved - Now filled with love notes!

Hee. I did actually put a note in yesterday. And some candy.

Teri is on her way over here. She had to kick some ass this morning. The ass of her old boss - who "forgot" to sign her severence check. I hope everything went all right.

Oh good lord, are you kidding? HE is King of the Jags. Are y'all going to lunch it up?

Ha! Freaky people. Al, you know Lyn Never from the D/FW Cool Girls? She sent out a note to the Topica list that SHE got laid off yesterday, too. What is going on with all this "downsizing"?

Hannah. Macintosh haiku. Kill me. KIRR me!

Hee! I knew you and Al would be able to relate too! I love to hate my iBook, yes I do.

There is a recession indeed. Scary.

H, you didn't by any chance send me an anonymous postcard, did you? I got this postcard in the mail yesterday that was addressed to me, postmarked Cincinnati, and said only, "Somewhere in this mass of humanity is the cousin for you." And signed with a Hello Kitty sticker. Very strange--but the handwriting is clearly girly and looks familiar. Do y'all think that's kind of weird?

It's not I. Don't you think it's from Keli?

That is kind of weird. What is the postcard of?

-- Anonymous, July 12, 2001

Yeah, I thought about that, but I don't think it is somehow. The picture on the front is of rush hour on Fifth Avenue. Hence, the "mass of humanity" part, I guess.

It kind of freaked me out, though, because if it's someone who reads my journal, (and I'm sure it is, because of the "cousin for you" part) they obviously had to go and do a whois on my domain and all that to get my address.

Or they could've looked up Vince Chao in Arlington. Is your number listed?

I'd ask Keli about it. If not, maybe say something on your notify?

-- Anonymous, July 12, 2001

That's true--I could just ASK. Hee.

I need to update.

Sara just got back her photos from my actual birthday. I was in rare form that night, I must say. There' sa photo of me drinking a beer with no hands. I'm just leaning over and slurping it.

Classy.
