EOS 888 lense change

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon EOS FAQ forum : One Thread

I have a cannon EOS 888 with a 75-300mm lense. I would like to purchase a used 35-75mm lense from either a Cannon Rebel or an EOS 30 but I am not sure if they are interchangeable. Does anyone know if this can work?

Thanks, George

I am not familiar with the EOS 888, but I know that all of Canon's EF lenses are compatible with all EOS bodies. Purchase without fear - if the lens says 'EF' and the body says 'EOS' it will work!

Any lens that works on the EOS 500/Rebel X, 500N/Rebel G, 300/Rebel 2000, 50/Elan II or 30/Elan 7 will work fine on the 888. I believe the 888 is the Japanese model name for the EOS 5000 that was never officially sold in the USA.
