Savannah loses power

St. Joseph News-Press

SAVANNAH, Mo. —- About 1,000 customers in Savannah were without electricity for about three hours Sunday afternoon.

An official with the Andrew County Sheriff’s Department said the power went out at 3:30 p.m., and St. Joseph Power and Light was contacted.

The power outage was in different parts of Savannah, a St. Joseph Power and Light spokesman said, and affected about 1,000 customers. The spokesman said the outage was due to a faulty piece of equipment in the St. Joseph Power and Light substation in Savannah. Substations are where transformers are located.
