Dilemma: advice sought

I've just received some expenses from months ago at work. Question: shall I go to Belgium this weekend or treat me mam to a weekend away somewhere. I really want to go to Belgium but me mam needs a little break. What would you lot do?

Sorry I cannot help with this dougal, I know you need some time off after your health problems and they do have great Chocolates, not to mention Stella, (I mentioned it once and think I got away with it)

And there is the fact that your Mam did put in some time and effort when you were ill.

Aghhhhh, go yersell, then come back and treat your Mam. A bit of selfishness is OK occassionaly

If you go to Belgium that will give yer mam a break surely? Stay for a month and give her a treat! :-)

Take your mam to Belgium and give her a day at a spa while you go to the match. :-)

Get her smashed on vodka then sneak to the airport.

I haven't had time to iron out the creases yet but I'll do some research on the vodka bit.

Put your cheque in a high interest earning savings account, then take her down to Whitley Bay for the day, THEN once we've reached the UEFA Cup final withdraw the money (+ any accrued interest) and take her to the big one.

My mother, God Bless Her Sainted Heart, answered this question herself by saying that what she really wanted to do was for me to go clothes shopping with her for her holiday which is coming up shortly. So, I'm going to Belgium if I get a ticket.

Oh, for the sake of completeness (because I know you'll all be wondering....), I'm taking her shopping on Thursday and will buy her these trousers she liked in Bainbridges but wouldn't buy because she thought they were too expensive.

What an uplifting story dougal - you're a star.

Well done dougal!

To all you selfish lot who suggested she spent all the money on herself you should be ashamed!
