At last - some good news!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Dougal has just "texted"? me(oh dear - the language is gaanin rapidly doonhill is't not?) with this gem. Apparently, according to the Queen of the Non Footie Controversy, and the BBS antidote to Prozac, the latest Sunderland signing (who he?) has said he wants to live in Newcastle because it's a nicer place! Marvellous!

A defection of Sol proportions!

It is this Nicolas Medin blerk. However, I wouldn't get excited as the lad is clearly deranged. He said something like "Sunderland is a pretty city, but Newcastle is livelier".
Sunderland - pretty!! Oh, perlease.

a complete non-story. There are thousands of us red and whites in Newcastle, Gateshead and other traditional "mag areas". We still hate the mags.

Hopefully his presence will encourage many more locals to come over to the true faith.

I liked this bit meself from the same article in the Sunday sun:

AND Medina's compatriot, Black Cats winger Julio Arca, also has a few colourful views about his adopted home.

"When I first visited Sunderland I immediately realised the locals drink a lot of beer!" he laughed.

"Some people drink at nine in the morning through until seven - it is terrible!"

...encourage many more locals to come over to the true faith.

True Faith? A policy of hatred? What a strange value system in operation here.
