A video file should be in mpg, avi, asf, etc but not dat. It must be in video cd mpeg1 format for making a video cd playable on a multi read standalone dvd. The writing program converts the mpg format to a dat file while writing to the cd. Thus the faster the cpu the better the video cd. CdMaker Pro appears to do the conversion faster than Easy Cd.
