Need 2,4-D dillution info (Pasture)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

The container of 2,4-D herbicide I recently bought does not have dillutions but rather volume per acre.

Anyone know the proper dillution ratios for 2,4-D? This would be for applying to common weeds via a power sprayer.

For example, the container of REMEDY, a brush killer, says to dillute 8oz of REMEDY in 14 gallons of water (with a quart of diesel oil.)

Knowing I need to apply a pint or two per acre doesn't help me fill the spray tank.

Ask the vendor (telephone is good). Ask your agricultural adviser (is that extension agent, county agent?) Ask the manufacturer (should have phone numbers on the label, and they may be toll-free). Ask some local farmers - if they don't know, they'll probably know who will.

My husband says 1/2 oz. per gallon of water applied at a rate of 3 gallons per thousand square feet.
