Have maybe a hundred bulblets, the top sets/planting bulbs, from egyptian or walking onions and would like to trade for elephant garlic. These walking onions make for good source of onion greens in the winter and you can harvest the top sets the second year. BC

BC, I grew elephant garlic a couple of years ago. I just bought some at our local grocery store and broke apart the cloves and planted them. You can plant in July for fall harvest after the tops dry or plant in the early spring for harvest in mid summer. I'm sorry I don't have any elephant garlic right now as I would like a start of your walking onions. Sorry I couldn't help. Linda

The best use for the egyptian onions that I have found is to use the tops for winter/early onion greens and I don't have to replant every year to have onion greens. Some of my bublblets are comprable size to green onions and I use them in salads.
