A field of dreams

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

I have been silent for a while , sort of interested in the new proposed training facilitie, views on here re youth academy and soforth , always in my opinion expressed on here one and the same,

IMHO that Newcastle Utd are just playing at it , do they know what they want?, does Shep realise that money can be made availible to make this dream come true. Even at my level and complete lack of business acumen I understand to keep a club solvent one must have a youth policy, that is why we run a boy`s club, the punters will be up for sponsoring kids , easier to get coin out of organisations,£1,000 last week from a new Tesco`s, a letter, a copy of the clubs constition a photo call with local manager , easier than doing a bungee jump. Now Fred my dear, working on the same principle you can get money from English sports organisations or even the lottery. The problem being is explaining the lack of foresight shown in the past by the previous hiarchy, To explain better can I for those who do not know what we should be aiming for describe Auchenhowie now renamed Murray Park , Rangers new 14 million training and academy facility -:

(a) Ten training pitches built to the same size and spec as Ibrox

(b) One is floodlit, one is astroturf , one is inside the complex.

(c) Three will be for youth only and 500 are expected thro weekly.

(d)Luxurious dressing rooms, hydrotherapy pool,hi-tech exercise equpt

(e)first team will receive silver service, youth to aim for the stars

(f)£50,000 video editing system for all aspects of training, Steph???

(h)Incoming players hopefully will be swayed to join Rangers .

* There are many more aspects, prior to this , players meet at Ibrox, staff phone up Council to see what is availible and then offski, this

from a club who payed 12 mill for Flo, give Advocaat his due, he

knew what was required long term while Souness and Smith in for the

glory , bit like us really except the glory did not arrive. I know

we all think footballers are spoilt brats , that`s how it is Im afraid, this coming from a guy who rates boxers the best trainers

and to think they used to prepare in the spartan conditions of the

the Catskill Mountains, move with the times eh Buff.

BTW, Treatment roon has a machine which can tell if player is trying

to get back to early or pulling the wool aka Shearer and Marcellino

".....has a Treatment roon has a machine which can tell if player is trying to get back to early or pulling the wool aka Shearer and Marcellino".

Hoy Buff - you trying to wind me up?

Shhh Gus, I feel the waft of ageism creeping onto this board , I am thinking of forming another tribe and splitting up HelahDougal outfit, membership by bus-pass only, Jonno and Pit Bull have expressed a wee interest, we will wallow in past glories, listnen to the sounds of Monty Varnee, attempt to be calming influences on this board to the likes of Tom Dooley and young master Swift to name but two, yes we know we are past it when out comes the plaintiff cry "Mine`s a half" What a load of tosh eh, hitch up the galasses, bring on the gals, the auldies are in Toon, phew Im knackered

Clarky, did I confuse you, what with Gav and now you I am going for the big hitters , in fact I am giving Shearer a compliment, the machine can tell if a player is attempting to come back too quickly, aka Shearer , Marcellino is self explanoraty ,

....Aha, thanks marra. BTW, missed your posts recently - welcome back.

we will wallow in past glories

GLORIES? I know we're old Buff but I don't think any of us are that old. :-)

Buff, in answer to your points, I think they have already started with the new facilities at Tynemouth:

(a) Ten training pitches built to the same size and spec as Ibrox have you seen the length of the Long Sands? I'm sure that can accommodate far more than 10 pitches.

(b) One is floodlit, one is astroturf , one is inside the complex. Indoors is for softies.

(c) Three will be for youth only and 500 are expected thro weekly.

(d)Luxurious dressing rooms, hydrotherapy pool,hi-tech exercise equpt Bliddy soft as sh!te this new lot. What's wrong with a towel wrapped roond yer equipment, the gentle lap (or otherwise) of the North Sea and a quick pull on the Shuggies (nee comments, please fellas. There might be bairns watching).

(e)first team will receive silver service, youth to aim for the stars Aye, aah've seen Gavilan's shooting. Aah think he was aiming for the starts. Bliddy well nearly hit them as well.

(f)£50,000 video editing system for all aspects of training, Steph??? Spot on. She'll be there in a flash (see previous comment aboot towels).

(h)Incoming players hopefully will be swayed to join Rangers . ...or the Guides, or more likely the Sea Scouts.

PS. What happened to (g)??
