Average Age of posters on this board

having just seen the "greatest rockstar/showman" thread below I'm wondering if I haven't stumbled on the "Old Peoples Network Discussion Ring"...

I'm just waiting for someone to post that Cole Porter was their favourite...

And just what's wrong with Cole Porter, eh ?

And do you have a problem with that young man! (;o)

Roly friend, please don`t Muddy the Waters , dats where it all began folks, ask Elvis huh huh , Buddy, The Beatles and our own Eric and The Animals, he was the main man , the one who inspired the ones you all mention , shake a tailfeather people , don`t knock the auldies

Forgot about our Eric, Buff. House of the Rising Sun's an all time classic. And The Charlie Byrd instrumental version isn't far behind.

You'll have to speak up young man - I'm 97 you know.

Greatest rockstar is a matter of history not preference. Many on here can discuss historical matters such as yesterday's discussion on Magna Carta for example, and people can contribute from their reading of the events. Obviously, only one or two of us were there at the time ...

Mental age, birth age or how the body feels age?

Sorry, Roly...Cole Porter isn't really rock, is he? Now if we're talking about all time musical greats..... ;-)

Because everything since the golden age of rock has been manufactured crap! (God, I'm sounding more like me Dad every day. Looking more and more like him as well!)

Cole Porter was/is my favourite songwriter, and if you listen to Ella sings the "Cole Porter Songbook" and have any concept of music you will realise why.

Bobby Mitchell was my favourite footballer which doesnt mean to say I dismiss any from a different age just what excites us particularly in our youth.

I reckon

Derek

(IN Jakarta spotted 3 Liverpool shirts, 2 NUFC ones, 2 Everton ones, and only one MUFC....Sign of the times??????)

I wish that was the case derek, although I think that people from the North are more talented and therefore more in demand to save the world, hence my presence in the US.

Like Jonno said you don't have to be born in 1216 to talk about the Magna Carta (though it would definitely help). I was born a week before we last won the FA Cup. Which means I can remember the first time the Beatles were on TV singing Love Me DO (it was on Crackerjack or something like that). I must admit that from the music point of view I'm glad I'm so aged that my first memory of music is the Beatles and the Shadows and not for instance the first time the Spice Girls or Britney Spears were on. This last week you would have thought it was 1971 again : I've seen Neil Young, The Eagles, and Roxy Music (along with Placebo, Faithless and PJ Harvey who were also very good at the Werchter Festival). It was great to see our local heroes Brian Ferry and the Great Paul Thompson (best rock drummer after John Bonham?) on form. By the way, was Cole Porter's name a joke? If he'd been called Mr Scuttle it would have been even better.

I'm 17.

(That is no lie by the way)

my average age is 29

-- Anonymous, July 06, 2001

What a brilliant idea you've given me there Alan. If I add up my age at each birthday and divide by the total number of birthdays, then I arrive at my average age of 25. I like the sound of that. :-)

Haha, my average age is 9

I always admire Coal Porters - ever tried getting a sack onto your back without spilling it.

You get marked down for not showing your working out.

Born in '66 but I don't keep count now.
