I Love

Satan, Hitler, Lenin, Stalin, Charles Manson, and all the people listed below: Harold Shipman for the murder of 15 of his patients confirms him as one of the the most prolific serial killers of the modern era.

Dennis Nilsen is known to have killed as many in Britain, although the exact number of men he strangled and mutilated at his flat at Cranley Gardens in Muswell Hill, London - thought to be between 12 and 16 - is still a matter of conjecture. Shipman's case is different because detectives, who investigated 130 deaths, believe he killed at least 15 and more charges are expected.

But Shipman, unlike most serial killers, did not kill with violence. His modus operandi, a swift injection of a lethal dose of morphine, distinguishes him from the brutality and bloodshed that usually marks out a murderer.

Yorkshire Ripper, Peter Sutcliffe, who was found guilty in 1981 of murdering 13 women, aged from 16 to 47.

His murder spree started in October 1975 when he beat and stabbed a prostitute. He later claimed he wanted to rid the world of prostitutes and described the murders as "just cleaning up streets". Sutcliffe was captured five years later.

Fred West is thought to have killed 12 people at 25 Cromwell Street, Gloucester. West committed suicide in prison before standing trial but his wife, Rosemary, was convicted in 1995 of murdering 10 women and girls. The victims were tortured, raped and murdered and then buried at Cromwell Street.

It is quite clear that Mrs West must be a psychopath. She and Frederick West were a perfect pair for each other." Hmmmmm was she a stalker? But we love her don't we?

Hu Wanlin could be the most prolific killer yet known. He claimed he was a healer who possessed a mysterious force of qi, or vital energy. He is said to have set up hospitals in two Chinese provinces several years ago, but his treatments allegedly killed 146 patients. He is awaiting trial.

Anatoly Onoprienko was convicted by a Ukrainian court of murdering 52 people, 10 of them children.

The former forestry student - nicknamed "the Terminator" by local newspapers - would burst into homes at random and kill entire families with his sawn-off hunting gun. Before his trial, he told reporters: "I have no regrets, no remorse and I would do it again if I could."

A Russian cannibalistic killer, Andrei Chikatilo, admitted murdering 55 people in an 11-year period. At his trial, he blamed a deprived childhood and a lack of motherly love for his obsession. "I am a freak of nature, a mad beast," Chikatilo told the court. He was executed in 1994.

Jeffrey Dahmer was jailed in 1992 for murdering 17 teenagers in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Two years after his conviction he was killed by a fellow jail inmate who used a mop handle to stab him in the eye.

"You think you have seen it all, then something like this happens," said a police officer who was among the first to enter Dahmer's apartment. When they broke in police discovered that the killer kept severed heads at his home; two were found in the fridge. He had crammed the torsos of four men into a barrel and other body parts were strewn around the floor or stored in jars.

Dahmer later told detectives: "I knew I was sick or evil or both."

We love ya man, hugs and kisses..........

Happy 4th to you, also, Helen, as well as anyone else who might be around on this Holiday. What don't I know about Mike? Has he been ill?

I don't have a thing planned for today. My daughter is working, SO is in D.C., and I visited my mom yesterday. I've got a twinge in my back [probably from throwing myself off balance with that broken bone in the left foot], and didn't even CONSIDER throwing a barbecue. ADH already said that he was going to gorge on barbecue and other foods. I'd like to see this thread turn into what folks are doing today [so I can live through you vicariously.]

A very Happy Holiday to all of you!

We have 30+ people coming over this afternoon for our annual 4th of July Bar-B-Que and fireworks extravaganza. There is a resort lagoon in our local harbor that puts on a world class fireworks show every year and we load everyone on the boat and get a dramatic seat for the event. Always a grand time.

You guys left a few days too early but I’m confident you will enjoy the day with your families.

BTW, kindof funny story about visiting my mom yesterday: Since her old place was on the way to her new place, I stopped in to pay the prorated rent she owed that place. While there, I thought, "Why not ask her bookie if he'd like to take a ride and visit her?" I knocked on Pat's door. He usually sits around in just his under-shorts, and yesterday was no exception. He said he'd LOVE to go with, and I waited outside while he got dressed.

Mom was sitting in the foyer when we arrived. I said, "Mom, I brought Pat." Pat sat down next to mom and after a few seconds she said, "Pat? Would you like to go up and see my flat?" Before I could even say, "They call them apartments here, mom!" she said, "I was waiting for my DAUGHTER!" I can't describe the emphasis she put on daughter, but it indicated her consternation that I hadn't yet shown up. I said, "Mom...I'm right here." She looked at me, squinted and said, "Honey...is that you?" [Does this fall under the category of not thinking about the people most important to you, or is the truth that my mom's bookie is more important than her daughter?]

While I did some chores and talked to the folks in charge, Pat filled my mom's head with promises. He must have told her 30 times that in 4 weeks he was moving to a 2-bedroom apartment and buying a new car. He said he'd pick her up and take her to Steak and Ale now that he knew where she lived. This sounded like fun, but even my mom wasn't fooled. For four years now, Pat has said that in 5 weeks he'd be leaving [the old place] to move back to his condo in Florida and that he'd send her a huge bag of grapefruit and oranges once there. He ALSO told her that her new place was three times the size of her old flat and twice as nice. He's a master at exaggeration, but it did my heart good to see her laugh so much. I love these old folks.

I'm a Yankee Doodle Dandy

A Yankee Doodle, do or die;

A real live nephew of my uncle Sam's,

Born on the Fourth of July.

I've got a Yankee Doodle sweetheart,

She's my Yankee Doodle joy.

Yankee Doodle came to London,

Just to ride the ponies,

I am a Yankee Doodle boy.

Happy Birthday America!!!

And a happy 4th to all.

I would have liked to stayed and partied some more as I get the feeling that the party scene in that neck of the woods would indeed be something to partake of.But alas, a protracted stay by moi might drive the property values right down and straight to hell in a handbag : )

But, it's good to be back in the south, where smiling and saying "hiii" to a store clerk isn't cause to look for the alarm button or eye the pistol.

The trip home was unusually long and filled with screaming youngin's and bitchy parents, the lack of "cold" beer did not help matters one bit.But the smell of the sweet southern sultry air, a mega cold beer, a few smokes and a seat in front of my puter is this travelers reward.

I will marinate the country ribs, ice down a cooler full of Bud and as a time honored tradition play Springsteens' "Independence Day" at full throttle.

Oh, and catch up on some surfin'!!!

Have a great day yaw'll : )
