Photos... a LOT of photos.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

Below is a link from a thread in the LUG. One person made an homage to LUG'er Stephen Holloway, creating a link by link overview from his many website photos, loosely assigned into categories... Bokeh, decisive moments, etc...

This might be a bit labor intensive, but there is a LARGE body of work, most made with the simplest of gear. Take a look if you have the time. I just clicked on the "back" arrow on my explorer and then clicked on the next link, rather than using the website "previous/ next" commands.

This thread will be of interest to anyone that would like to see what the Noctilux (and the Summarit) can do. Placing the curser over the photo reveals the camera and lens used.

I've always liked Holloway's web site, ever since he started the Photo a Day (PAD)project in early 2000. Really great candid/people/street photography.

Thanks to Stephen's shots, I am putting my 50 back on my M6.

Great stuff!

It's good to see that someone else is using a Summarit and not all too worried that it may not be up to the task, which apparently it is from the quality of not just the image but the verve with which Holloway uses his camera. Never had a problem with mine (and on a screwmount as well). Also to note that while apperently he does use a rfdr for the bulk of the images, he produces the same quality with an slr-what heresy!

Al, thanks for the link! I've already seen some picture at that site, but the classification provided does help. I'm getting more and more fascinated with Noctilux. And with 35/2 also. Almost pictorial art!
