Is there a word from the Lord...?

I am led to post the following scripture as there is someone in particular need of strength. If it is you, read it and give God the praise: I Samuel 30:4-6 So David and his men wept aloud until they had no strength left to weep. David's two wives had been captured--Ahinoam of Jezreel and Abigail, the widow of Nabal of Carmel. David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.

But David encouraged himself in the Lord his God...

Praise God for the Bible Study lesson! The writers of the Old Testament display a wonderful talent in describing the many facets of the human experience. ".....wept aloud until they had no strength left to weep" superbly captures the agony, pain, frustation, and deep disappointment in knowing that our loved ones are forcibly taken away from us and in imminent danger. As Bishop Bryant would say this passage is "pregnant with possibilities". No doubt if I was a member of David's militia I too, would probably be a part of the coup'd etat efforts as well. Yet David persevered and encouraged himself in the Lord. Just amazing!! Reading this passage makes me reflect on that old hymn we were brought up singing in prayer meeting, "Through it All, Through it All, I've learned to trust in Jesus , I've learned to trust in God" Rev. Byrd, I got so excited about this passage I read the entire chapter! QED
