TEEN BREAKS WIND - AND LAW

By BILL HOFFMANN

July 3, 2001 -- Passing bad checks is against the law, and in Spain, so is passing wind.

A teenager in Bilbao was fined $150 after he broke wind in front of police officers who asked to see his identification.

Police said the 16-year-old joker turned his back on them and let loose with an offensive burst of gas.

The astonished cops fined him on the spot for being disrespectful.

The boy's mom admits her son turned the other cheek when the police stopped him, but insists he didn't deliberately aim at them.

"The fart was not directed to the officers . . . In fact, he was just talking to his friends," she told the El Correo newspaper.

Makes ya wonder how they'd enforce that law in a crowd with an SBD.

A long time ago, I was involved with a contractor for my Agency. I was told that they had had an employee, briefly, who was notorious for his SBDs and also for looking reproachfully at a nearby person whenever that happened.
