Brake Lever

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MV Agusta F4 : One Thread

I know I read about this before. Can the brake lever for an F4 be purchased separately or must you buy the whole master cylinder set up.

Unfortunately, you have to buy the whole setup as I found out after a garage tipover.

You can buy just the brake or clutch lever. If you have trouble, let me know and I will get you a brand new one. Whoever says you cannot just does not know or got fooled by their dealer. If you look at the parts catalog, you will see that there is a part number just for the lever as well as a part number for the whole assembly. If you are going to buy the whole assembly you might as well switch over to brembo GP master cylinders anyways.

I'm totally astonished to read that some importers or dealers try to f... their customers like this. Onces my bike fall and I have broken my clutch lever, ok the lever wasn't cheap because it comes with space ajuster, but they deliver it within 24 hours and not the whole master cylinder believe me... For the story, Swiss importer is a company capitalized by the factory and they are very near of them (60 km), they have lots of parts in stock and I have virtualy no problems with them. They are also very, very, very large and kind concerning the warranty. But I know that in France the importer who is S.I.M.A are the worse I've ever seen. So here come again the question about private importers and capacitiy to satisfy their customers.

Now I'm really annoyed at the two! dealers who wouldn't quote me just a lever price. This means I paid way more than I needed to.

Advise : write a letter concerning this in the factory (not an E-mail) to Roberto LEO. Write about your problems and you have to remember them you are the customer and you have bought a premium motorbike and you're needing parts. Not those your importer want to sale but what you as a customer you're needing !!!

to "Laurent-SWIZERLAND": I saw your statement about the factory which is importing the MV's to switzerland, and that you are very pleased with their professionalism and behaviour. I'm from Austria, near Vienna and unfortunately I must tell you the opposite from the austrian importer. (A friend of mine has waited for a rear view mirror for about 10 months in a guarantee case). Can I send you a direct Email, reagarding details how to ordering direct through the swiss importer ?? Or can you send me the further informations about the possibilities (as far as you know). I want to buy a mono back, sprockets, carbon parts and some other equipment. Thanks in advance (and feel free to write english or german). Best Regards Josef
