Supposedly A Madrid have accepted an £5 mill + offer from us. If we do sign him, do you think it would be a good thing?? All I can remember is his last season at smog land and he struggled awfully. IS he back to his best and would he be good for the toon.?? AM

He never did seem to be as good when he came back from his broken leg. However, I've not seen him since he left Boro again. All I remember of him was his fantastic ability to open up a game, making and scoring chances. The question is can he (does he want to?) still do it in the Prem?

The other thing nagging me about this rumour is that he could be being lined up to fill the gap Dyer could possibly leaving shortly?

He would be a great addition, but HE WANTS TO STAY IN BRAZIL. His father (agent) says he would prefer to stay on loan with Vasco de gama, if not them another Spanish team would be his preferance. England is 3rd choice.

it has to be a dyer replacement, he was wank for Boro the second time around AND played in their relegation team AND said Boro was the only English team he'd play for... good in his time, but maybe not now

is in the current Brazilian team but can't see that meaning much

Maybe he'll change his mind if they fail to qualify for the World Cup?

I think he is just the creative and entertaining type of player we have needed since Daglish dismantled the Keegan team. I hope we can negotiate a deal -- he would make a difference

You could be right on that floridian, if he can play at the level we saw in his first season with Boro - phoenix

I was lucky enough to be working for a mate in smogsville during "Two Wembleys and a funeral" and thoroughly enjoyed the sight of all the "pinkos" getting firmly stuffed. Having worked in South America during the period running up to this, I would often read "quotes" in the Brasilian press from Brit based players slagging their teamates, coaches, training methods, food, women, driving and Juninho and Emerson were top of the list in the "Whinge Olympics" If he returned to the Premiership, he would still be looking over his shoulder to get back to Spain or move to Italy, besides being a mercenary little f**ker he is way past his "sell by date" As I lovingly predicted on a many a shithouse wall "the riverside will be a cold and lonely place with the wind whistling through all those empty seats"
