Shearer: I will be back

The following ripost from AS is on Teamtalk:

Alan Shearer has vowed to prove the doubters wrong by coming back better than ever next season, proving he is not finished as a player.
The Newcastle captain is being widely tipped to take over as manager at SJP in 12 months time. And that expectation, coupled with the player's ongoing injury problems, has prompted widespread speculation that he has kicked his last ball in a black and white shirt.
But the former England skipper has insisted that his second operation to cure tendinitis in his left knee was a complete success. "I will be back - don't doubt there's plenty more to come. The whole thing is down to wear and tear."
"I'm aware of the Chinese whispers coming from uninformed people. I'm supposed to be finished, but how often have you heard that?
".

One thing is certain - more than ever we desperately need Shearer back in good health, and with all guns blazing in the upcoming season.

better than ever next season

Let it be so. It's hard to believe mind that he could be "better than ever" particularly as that "wear and tear" is harder to bear as you get older (so I'm told). But if he can come back at even something like 90% of his prime, that would make him the best striker in the Premier. Good luck Alan.
