Not a bad line up if the side can play week in week out and get a run going. As i said last week YKD has told the press he would like nothing more tha to win some thing in a black and white strip and loves the club +fans but dose not want to go through a season like we have just had .Playing when not fully fit.He also said that we need 5 top signings to compete with the top 5 in the league. What will happen if dyers not ready till xmas,cort pulls a hamstring ,shearer,s knee is not up to it,solarno is in peru.ALL OF A SUDDEN IT DOSE NOT LOOK TO GOOD!!! ,We need quality now not in 2 or 3 years when these youngsters are ready.We need european football to attract top players and allow these youngsters to learn there trade properly. As clarky said YKD is spot on to tell us now that the team needs improving for people to fight for there places and push for europe.In a years time if we have struggled at least we now YKD has give it a shot.The inter toto is a great chanceto get into europe lets hope we can take it. I am not being pesamistic I am being realistic we need strenght in depth and some thing to cheer about. The team above will hold its own if we stay injury free and don't have the problems of last season. We have got the ground ,the best fans (bar none)and one of the most exciting players in the premier(YKD)Things arn't that bad, but a couple of world class signings to push for europe would get SJP buzzing again and prehaps cheer a few people up on here.

Couldn't agree more! I'll judge Bellamy after he's kicked a ball for us and it's good to see Elliot back in Toon. However none of uor signings or proposed signins really strike fear into the heart of other teams or set wet the fans appetite! I just hope we can stave off injuries or else it's going to be a new seson and a same old story!

Of course we need a substantial infusion of talent, be it from the outside or from our youth team. However, I do not believe that the three impendings signings can lift us out of the sea of mediocrity in which we have been wallowing for the last four years. I can name ten strikers in the Premier League who are better than Bellamy. Elliot will play his heart out without setting SJP alight, and Murray is an unknown quantity except that if recommended by Wadsworth he must be suspect. As I wrote previously in such a terribly short time the team of eagles which soared in the heavens has been replaced by one containing too many turkeys.
