As far as I can see:
1)Successful, ambitious players have no reason to come to Newcastle United.
2)Shepherd is scrap-metal dealing vermin who takes his already minimal corporate credibility down another notch every time he opens his mouth to brag about how much 'serious' money the club is going to splash on players. He is an unsophisticated oaf who has failed to earn an iota of respect from the City - as evidenced by the fact that whenever a credible businessman is employed by the club, they leave again pretty quickly.
3)Bobby Robson has acheived nothing in nearly two seasons, other than restoring the 'harmony' destroyed by Gullit, which I suspect means allowing the Shearer/Lee clique to reestablish itself. There is no evidence that his staff are even remotely competent.
