Alternate energy wiring design plans, etc.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread ------------------------------------------------------------------------

Does anyone know where I can find Alternate Energy design plans, which would include wiring PV panels, batteries, inverters, alternators, etc? I am a do-it-yourselfer and have not found anything that would help me do this. I will be greatful of any suggestions.

In my Jul/Aug 99 issue of Backwoods Home magazine there is a page of books for sale headed "Energy Books". One is called "Independent Energy Guide". Says it covers AC, DC, photovoltaics, wind, water, generators, energy storage, and system operation. Looks like it might be something that would help you. The web address of BHM is http://www.backwoodshome.com. Hope this helps.

Home Power Magazine - "The Hands-On Journal of Home-Made Power". I have every issue back to #1, and it's the "bible" for designers/installers like myself as well as do-it-yourself types. You can download the current issue or buy it at many news stands.

You may like to try the book "more Power to You". It is frequently advertised in Countryside, and even though this subject is completely greek to me, the author spelled it out in simple "dummies" books style Sue

You may find the following web site of some use to you. The site is about building your own windmill PMA Generator. See: http://www.windmill.on.ca/windmill.htm
