bigtime transitions

Do you make them well? I am, by nature, a big scaredy cat who freaks at the thought of getting a new job, moving to a new apartment in the same city, etc. I am trying to overcome this, lest I spend the rest of my life doing the same things just because I'm not afraid of new stuff . How do you react to big changes in your life (ones that most people would consider positive changes)?

Clearly I meant because I *am* afraid of new stuff. Clearly I am trying to influence myself not to be!

If it's new, but positive, I go for it!

Heh. On the eve of quitting a job that I had for ten years and hated for the last two of those years, my ulcer flared up again after being somewhat dormant for eleven years. I had one day, ONE day, people, of feeling good, like it started up. Two and a half months later, I'm getting it under control. I'm doing some sporadic freelancing and basically just sitting around eating bonbons and pulling weeds. I don't know what I'm going to do next but I'm okay with it. I think.

I have lived in the same home for 20+ years. I have held the same job for 24 years. Big transitions are strange and scary. Pick any 2 you like.

1. He who hesitates is lost. 2. Fools rush in. 3. Opportunity knocks once. 4. Look before you leap.
