I want to purchase a high quality light box. What is recommended? Thanks.

Max: What do you want the light box for, wall mounting for viewing a transparency, sorting slides and negatives? What size are you looking for? I have Logan A-5A, 8x10 1/2" deep light box that I like.

A table top box for sorting slides and viewing negatives. Space is a premium, but I do want the best quality box I can find.

Check out the Pro-Cabin line by Mamiya. Very nice. Very even light. Very expensive.

DW Viewboxes out of England, and Just (Germany) are two lightboxes that I highly recommend. Both are 'big' names in the graphics industry for stripping tables, and for retouching booths for photofinishers, yet both make smaller home versions. They are expensive, but you'll find none better. I have a DW Quaser that is small (11X16"), has very even lighting, and has a frosted glass top instead of the plexi. This is very important if you are want to do any slide masking or stripping, because it allows you to use an X- Acto knife without damaging the viewing surface.
