Stone Says Zoo Workers Were No Help

WASHINGTON –– Sharon Stone said Los Angeles Zoo employees were of no help when a Komodo dragon attacked the foot of her husband, San Francisco Chronicle executive editor Phil Bronstein.

"The zookeeper who was there with us was paralyzed and unable to do anything to help in any way," Stone told AP Radio. "I made a tourniquet out of his socks. I turned them inside out. He had such a severe injury and we were alone and I was screaming for help and no one was there to hear us."

Her comments are a reversal from those she made right after the attack, when she said, "We certainly don't blame the people at the zoo."

Spokespeople from the Los Angeles Zoo were not immediately available for comment Thursday afternoon.

The 43-year-old actress arranged the June 9 visit as a Father's Day present to her husband, who had always wanted to see a Komodo dragon up close.

A zookeeper had asked Bronstein to remove his white tennis shoes to keep the 5-foot-long reptile from mistaking them for the white rats it eats. The animal attacked Bronstein's shoeless foot, crushing his big toe.

"There's been a lot of PR like it's a funny thing, or like it was a little accident, when in fact it was an irresponsible offer and it was a very, very serious injury, and it's going to take him probably a total of four months to rehabilitate and to walk again," Stone said.

Chronicle spokesman Joe Brown said Thursday that Bronstein was still in Los Angeles, on heavy antibiotics, and was not expected back at work until next week.

Sharon Stone is another spoiled rich Hollywood liberal that never seems to have it ‘good enough’. She gets special treatment from the LA Zoo and then blames them when the Komodo won’t follow the script. This story will just drag on until the City of LA pays her off to the tune of big bucks.

Couldn't help but notice that this 'Mad Dragon' story was posted out of Washington, D.C., where Stone is pimping herself for the liberal cause. Careful there Sharon, old man Jeffords might bite YOUR big toe

Stone lauds Jeffords, wants to meet him

Sharon Stone says she's happy to go to Washington to accept an award for her charitable work, but what she really wants to do is shake the hand of Sen. Jim Jeffords of Vermont.

Stone, a Democrat, praised Jeffords for sticking to his basic political instincts.

"The thing I'd like to have happen while I'm in Washington is to try to set up a great moment," said the actress.

"I'd like to shake the hand of Sen. James Jeffords, because the truth has set him free," she said of the Vermont lawmaker who recently left the Republican party to become an independent, tipping the balance of power in the Senate to the Democrats.

"He has the courage of his convictions, and I just have great personal admiration for those convictions when they come from the heart and finally politics acts on them."

That's what he gets for wearing white socks, dufuss.

Yeah, I hear he had taken his shoes off but left his socks on. DUH! "Dufus" is an understatement! Seems to me it was his own damn fault for not thinking things all the way through. If this is the case, he may not prevail in a lawsuit. He WAS warned and it's HIS responsibility to follow instructions.

Sadly, this may very well affect the behind-the-scenes tours that the zoo conducts to raise funds. It's always one idiot that ruins it for everybody else.

I guess it doesn't count when your personal convictions come from a conservative/libertarian heart.

Sharon Stone, Alex Baldwin, Barbara Streisand, Rosie O'Donnell, etc. Biggest sack of pampered hypocrites ever created.
