Hi John

The ways in which discourse analysis / discursive psychology may be used in textual analysis are very broad, but a good place to start may be:

Burman, Erica and Parker, Ian (eds)(1993). Discourse Analytic Research: Repertoires and Readings of Texts in Action. Routledge, London.

Critical Textwork: An Introduction to Varieties of Discourse and Analysis (1999) Ian Parker and the Bolton Discourse Network. Open University Press.

Both of these works hail from the Bolton Institute in England, where there is a very strong programme in discursive psychology. Closer to your neck of the woods, however, is the Critical Psychology Department based in one of Sydney's universities (Western Sydney - Nepean Campus ???). The web sites of either of these places will have a mine of information in relation to your question.

ciao Katrina

Have a look at Rom Harre & Grant Gillett's _The Discursive Mind_ (Sage, 1994).
