Punters on an Aussie forum are saying "apparently Tiatto is rumoured to be moving to NUFC, so he is jumping from one sinking ship to another".

My reply we are not a sinking ship because.......um well we have Dyer

and why else?

Um oh eeeeerrrrr, Shearer???

NUFC coming to Sweden. Goooood news!

Hopefully as soon as the board realizes how poor season ticket sales are they will act swiftly, although nothing surprises me anymore. I wouldn't be surprised if in fact some well known faces are already on board and NUFC are just waiting till everyone is back from their hols to make some sort of announcement. At that point we can all start a huge wave of optimisim till we get tonked in our first pre-season friendly and then the neurotics take over till may next year.

If anyone follows Baseball in the USA, last year the chicago cubs finished the year with just about the worst record in baseball, it was truly awfull, this year they have one of the best records in baseball with essentially the same key players. I guess the management brought in some kind of sports motivational person to help keep the team focused, it really works.

...... it certainly worked for Retief Goosen, 2001 US Open Champion.

What would make me happy is:

Zenden Kiko Gudjohnsen Helder Tiatto

all in black and white stripes for next season.

Is the negativity to lessen the disappointment if we underachieve again? How many of us still have an underlying crazy optimism, the feeling that things may just happen for us, against all the odds. A bit of team cohesion and confidence may be all it takes to get the ball rolling again. Players like Bassedas and LuaLua may be the heros we're looking for elsewhere, now that they've had a chance to properly adjust to the Premiership. Who knows? Each season's a clean slate. Success is unpredictable.

not to Man U it isn't

I know what you're getting at Peter - even back in the dark old days of Bobby Shinton being our 'star' player i always looked to a new season with renewed (and usually misplaced) confidence. Just can't get excited at all at the moment though. I still think we shouldn't panic however, if we we're to pay silly money on someone like Zenden it could come back to haunt us big style.

silly money.... man doesn't that sound wonderful?
