Gudjohnsen for us, not seen much of him, but has been shown the door by Chelsea, does that make him good enough for us?

Yes, I say go for him!

I'd go for him. Where did you get this info Swift, I haven't seen it this morning?

a chelsea mate reckons we have been sniffing and they don't want him anymore, Ranieri reckons he's no good

Ooh ooh ooh! Please, Mr Robson, please please please!

Would Chelsea be interested in a former Spanish International for a couple of million pounds perhaps? Nah thought not, ah well worth a try.

-- Anonymous, June 19, 2001

I haven't seen him that much...why does Ranieri not rate him?

-- Anonymous, June 19, 2001

boooosh, my credibility is shattered, Teamtalk are running it

Chelsea haven't bought any new strikers so I doubt they'd be willing to let him go. Unless they've got something in the pipeline but I haven't heard anything.

Chelsea have got Forsell back for next season.

Gudjohnsen scored 10 goals in 17 starts (13 others as sub). Goals tended to be against the poorer sides. Still only 22.

Iceland have 6 players with the surname of either (sic) Gudjohnsen or Gudjonsson

I'd take either Gudjohnsen or Forsell. I actually think Forsell will become a top striker and this could well be why Ranieri is off- loading Gudjohnsen. He also needs to do something to help offset Chewsee's transfer spending.

Why don't we do that charitable thing and take Gudjohnsen and Gronkjaer of their hands and reduce their wage bill?

-- Anonymous, June 19, 2001

overrated. No surprise Bolton picked up after they ditched him.

PS saw Forsell for Palace in the FA Cup this season @ SOL. He was crap, Dougy Friedman was far more dangerous.

I would have thought Sunderland could do with either Forsell of Gudjohnson as back up for Phillips this season. You'd then have Quinn and the new french fella you look like signing, Phillips and one of those two. Four decent srikers?

As it stands it looks like you're going to have three strikers and with Quinn's back looking worse and worse will Reddy be given the opportunities?

Don't forget DJ Dichio, that quality signing from Seria A.....

-- Anonymous, June 19, 2001

Sorry he's easily forgettable!

I'd like to see Reddy and Kyle break into the first team. From what I've seen, they're both very promising - at least as good as Bridges.

We can also play with two target men (cf Dichio/Quinn "twin towers" 98/9 season), although it encourages the long-ball.

Reddy looked a good player the season before last ML#3 - what happened to him last season? Went out on loan didn't he? Why?

-- Anonymous, June 19, 2001

it encourages the long-ball , doesn't bear thinking about
