Clinton Chicago

Star of Stars

Bill Clinton still has it. Lots of it actually. "Hot air, is something that comes to mind," says one DNC donor who attended a private Chicago DNC fundraising dinner that featured Clinton last Wednesday night.

"The man cannot stop talking. It's like none of us were there," says the source who has contributed more than $100,000 to the DNC from his Oak Park base of operations. "I was expecting something a bit more low key, something classy. Instead we got a history lecture, a soliloquy on fatherhood and Chelsea. There was a lot of red meat for die-hard politicos. Everyone around me was greatly impressed, fawning over him. I thought it was just overdone."

If nothing else, Clinton's appearance did generate some gossip. Clinton, in bragging about Chelsea, was overheard telling one guest that he hoped his daughter would pursue a life in service and politics. "You can tell that he's already got a House seat all picked out for her. You can see it in his eyes. He wants the legacy to be expanded."

Bill better go to Freepers and read what people think of Chelsea before he has her in a seat. If more people think of her that way, he'd think twice about throwing her to the lions.
