BIG TRAINING CAMP NEWS

Yes, it's true. There was a council during the just concluded MMM2 (Mook's Mountain Madness 2)training camp in Laramie, and important things were decided. Clearly the most important of which was that - yes - the club president has at last been bestowed with the highest of honors: a nickname. From this point on and forever more will Mary be known to all true OKers as: NN~^\. It's hare to descibe just how this is pronounced, but the first part is easy. Just like "MM" except it's "NN" instead. (There are secrets behind this consonant shift that can not be disclosed.) Then add three clucking or clicking noises consisting of a middle tone, then a high tone, and finally a low tone. There! You have it!

Also an important decision was made with regards to the rumored, possible treacherous action on the part of Snorkel. (I tried to talk them out of it, Dan, honest I did!)

The latest training camp, themed "When You Mean To Train, Train Hard", is now over. Mook and I ran the Day 1 May Daze Blue course yesterday and our legs were shattered afterwards, totally done in by the utter intensity of our efforts. (The hornets nest near #5 greatly assisted in keeping our running effort at an appropriately do- or-die level!)

Mook departed this morning with a glare in his eye. He is already thinking about that first PNWOF control, and about the scalps he will take during the upcoming races.

Afterwards, Juan Antonio Samaranch declared the camp "Best Ever."
