The whole world knew that Jeffers was going to the arse yet booby still put a bid in. Does this suggest to you good folk that he has no knowledge of the english game? After all, no-one else bid for jeffers. Do you think he can pull off a deal like jeffers ie undercover?maybe in europe but not here me thinks.

don't think Bobby was involved, think it was just that nasty Freddie helping his mate out at Everton by putting in a bid to provoke Arsenal into matching it. Everton had to do it to keep up the paymenst on Pistone, Watson and Ferguson :0)

There still seems to be doubts about whether we actually agreed an offer with Everton or not.
It could be, as Macbeth suggests simply FS helping out his mate at Everton to smoke Arsenal out. However, I doubt it - my guess is that it was genuine approach to see if by putting a substantial cash offer on the table we might be able to steal him from under Arsenal's noses.
It didn't work, but hey so what, we tried - and at least we put our money where Peyter puts his mouth.
