Jesus prayer

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Catholic : One Thread

Dear Catholic Friends, I have a question that I sometimes think about and I wondered what you. While Jesus was on earth He prayed to the Father for unity among Christians. That we may be one as the father and He are one. A protestant might say that this prayer is fulfilled because by faith we are one. Was Jesus prayer answered or not? Did He mean one in faith basics and not one in actual doctrine and one Church with Peter as the head? Will this prayer be fulfilled in the future? What do you think? Thanks Pamela

"Faith" means different things to different people that profess to be Christians. So I would have to disagree that Christians are of "One Faith". We believe that Christ intended One Church built upon Peter and guided today by his successors and the successors of the apostles. This prayer will be fulfilled at the end of time.

Anex answers that he believes that God is Spirit only. Do we assume that he does not believe that "God became man and dwelt among us"? Christ is God and He was not a spirit walking around that looked like a man. Christ is both human and Divine. The Jews worshiped only God the Father. We as Christians worship a triune God, three persons in One God.

Alex comes back with the same cut-and-paste job he first intruded with a year ago. Repeating the same grafitti.

''According to Gods eternal word, Catholics who follow the Pope, pray for dead people, confess to priest, follow the empty teachings of the Catholic church are not Christians'' OK, Alex. Don't be a phony. Where is it in God's eternal word? Show us a passage.

''All those years of living for satan were now gone. Now I live each day knowing that I am on my way to heaven. Jesus loves me. '' Jesus loves you because you lie about Catholics? Isn't lying forbidden in the ten commandments? You call yourself Christian, and others not Christians, and for this Jesus loves you? Isn't it the truth that you're a false prophet, and not even a good one? That you are full of empty teachings born of pride? You can rave all you want. But the Catholic Church is your mother, which you turned your back on. You are the direct descendents of devout Catholics. Ruiz is a Latin name; and Latins have laid down their lives in the past for Christ and His Holy Church. Maybe your own ancestors. What a shame they must feel as they see you following false prophets, and wasting the graces God gave your family. But, to you they're just ''dead people'', right? You are alive, they are dead, according to your scriptural wisdom. But some are surely saved; some of your great-grandfathers. They were in the Holy Catholic Church which gave them the love of Jesus Christ and His grace, necessary for salvation. They were baptised into the Church of Jesus, they lived by her teachings, they prayed to saints and the Blessed Virgin (dead people, to you.) --and they have gone to Our Lord's presence in heaven. Many good Ruizes, all your ancestors! Thanks be to God! Amen.

Common sense tells me you are just a blasphemer and a fraud. You're B.F. Alex Jr. B-F for Blasphemer, and Fraud.

Give us the name, B.F. Alex, of somebody the Pope has had killed. Put up or shut up, and give up. You'll never speak the truth.

Silly as you are, you're covering all the live threads here, in hopes of attention. You opened your own forums two times in this site, and nobody touched them. Too silly for discussion by good people.
Have mercy on Alex the B. F.; Dear Father. Take his devils out, and grant him light to see your truth. Through Jesus Christ, your Son Our Lord, with the Holy Spirit, One God, forever Amen!

Eugene: on another thread about Alex I said: Hacerle caso a los locos es engrandecerlos. It is true on this one too.

Dear Alex, I think you could better spend your time with a refresher course in grammar and punctuation. If you want people to follow your train of thought it must be presented in such a way that they can follow it. Not that I agree with you, but I would be more willing to listen to opposing positions if I could make heads or tails of it. Take the anger out and present the facts. Maybe if you were more intent on the facts than the anger, your conclusions would be different. Ellen
