Plastic Feeders vs Metal/Glassgreenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread |
OK which do you like better for sterilizing. I have been trying to buy things that will sterilize and plastic does not. Shouldn't this be important?

I love the hard plastic Carnation type feeders, though I do have wooden feeders and metal ones. Nothing really needs to be sterilized, even the buckets we feed milk in to the kids, get a good washing but certainly aren't sterilized. Now my milk pail is stainless and colostrum is fed in glass bottles, but stored frozen in soda bottles. If I have had a problem in an infant pen, I may use a propane torch to sterilize the walls and feed trough, but most cleanlings are just surface cleaning, or power washing. Vicki
